I enjoyed reading his book SMOKE AND DUST very much.

I'll never forget Betty MacDonald fan club meeting during the Olympic Games in London.
Betty MacDonald Memorial Award Winner Wolfgang Hampel told us the most wonderful stories about his experiences when he met Betty MacDonald's friend Don Woodfin.
I have to tell you. I'm a bit jealous.

We have the great honor and pleasure to welcome a new Betty MacDonald fan club honor member.

Gerrit, darling we are talking about famous French actor Gérard Depardieu, who has been sparring with his native country over 75 % taxes and has been granted Russian citzienship.
Betty MacDonald loved to pay taxes as she wrote in Anybody can do anything.
Do you remember the reason why?

I framed my Betty MacDonald and Mary Bard Jensen letters and photos I got from my parents.
They hang over my desk and I can read and see them while working on Pc.
I promised Jacoba, Pieter and Astrid to publish a story in one of the following Betty MacDonald fan club newsletters.
I interviewed my parents with my video camera many years ago.

I'm very impressed of new family pics and Betty MacDonald letters.
There is always something new under the sun after all those years although some very ignorant bores believe the opposite. I can't help but I feel a bit sorry for these poor ones! Maybe it's because of my helper syndrome as my son always uses to say.
I know very well Betty MacDonald wouldn't. Betty MacDonald wasn't fond of dull bores.
