It's a sad day today.

First beloved Betty MacDonald Fan Club honor member Monica Sone passed away a year ago.

Monica Sone, author of Nisei Daughter and Betty MacDonald's friend, described as Kimi in Betty MacDonald's book THE PLAGUE AND I;  is unforgettable.

We miss Monica Sone so much but she  lives on in the hearts of her family, friends and so many Monica Sone and Betty MacDonald fans around the world.

Monica Sone and Betty MacDonald fans will meet each other at the Paralympics in London today to celebrate a special Monica Sone Memorial.

Monica Sone was unique.
